I started Isaac Roth Solar after working on a solar sales team for a company that shut down after NEM 2 ended. As the industry changed, I watched a lot of solar companies disappear, and I saw too many installations handed off to crews who had never met the homeowner, creating a disconnect between the sales process and the actual work being done.
Moving forward, I only wanted to work with installers I genuinely trusted.
Today, my focus is education. A lot of homeowners sign solar contracts without fully understanding what they're agreeing to: the true cost of the system over time, whether the price is fair, what incentives are available, who is actually doing the installation, what the warranties cover, and who they'll call if something goes wrong five or ten years from now.
I believe solar works best when homeowners have clear information and realistic expectations. Sometimes that means recommending solar. Sometimes it means recommending a smaller system. And sometimes it means telling someone that solar isn't the right fit for their home at all.
More than 200 East Bay homeowners later, I'm still helping people navigate the complex and constantly changing world of solar. My goal is simple: first, figure out whether solar makes sense for your home. If it does, help you find the option that's truly the best fit.
When I'm not on a roof or reviewing proposals, you'll probably find me somewhere around Oakland. I love hiking in the redwoods, playing basketball, making music, and supporting the local restaurants I grew up with.
"He supported me out of a very predatory contract, saving me tens of thousands of dollars. You won't find a better person to work with in the solar industry."
Recent projects and site visits with homeowners across Oakland, Berkeley, and beyond.
"Years later, when I had questions about our system, Isaac still took the time to answer my call and help. That level of care and follow-through is rare."
If I say Wednesday at 10, I'm there at 10. If something changes, you'll hear from me before you have to ask.
Real numbers, year one through year thirty. Honest assumptions. No inflated savings projections.
Solar has to work for your home, not for my month.
